Happy Memorial Day!

Annabel went to her first parade today. No pictures from that, as Mommy forgot the memory card, but here's one from just a short while later. Doesn't she look cute in cousin Georgia's outfit?

Making new friends

Annabel made some new friends today. Their mothers and I met first online through our agency's website, and later in person. We're looking forward to the kids becoming great friends in the coming years!

Kingsley, Annabel, and Gracie

Kristy with Gracie (1 week), Andi with Kingsley (1 month), and Karen with Annabel (3 months)

Mmmm good!

This is not my idea of fun

Annabel is not a big fan of the baby wearing trend!

I'm 3 months old!

Today I'm 3 months old. I have a few new tricks up my sleeve:
  • I like to hold onto things tightly, especially mommy's hair.
  • I'm sleeping 6 hours in a row at night.
  • I've figured out that if you hit the monkey and parrot on the bouncy seat, they spin and music plays. It works best when I kick my legs and flap my arms.
  • I have a whole chorus of vowel sounds.
  • I can do half a sit-up.
  • I laugh when I sneeze, and
  • I CAN SUCK MY THUMB!!

Annabel now has an Austin playmate!

Little cutie John Michael was born yesterday morning to Michael and Mary Beth! At 21", he's going to be tall like his Daddy! Congratulations to his wonderful parents and their families!

Good Morning Sunshine

Annabel has slept really well in the past few days.  She has a bottle right before bed and then sleeps until 5 or 6 am.  After she eats early in the morning, she nestles in for a short nap right under my chin. It's so cozy!

Then she is so active!  Here is a movie from my favorite time of day.

Annabel's first sacrament

Annabel was baptized on Sunday, May 4 in a beautiful service. Father Lope presided over the baptism of Annabel and eight other infants. He made the service very special by explaining the origin of each child's name. Annabel's godmother, Sharalyn, placed the baptismal cloth over Annabel (made by a members of the church for all babies being baptized) and Uncle Stuart, Annabel's godfather, lit the baptismal candle from the Paschal candle. The Paschal candle is lit at the Easter vigil and remains lit for services in the Easter season, as well as all baptisms and funerals during the year.

We are very blessed to have found a church we love with such a caring congregation, staff, and priests. We have known for some time how blessed we are with wonderful families and friends. Even though many of us are not geographically near each other, we still feel each other's presence in our daily lives.

Here are a few more pictures from the weekend. The other cute kids are Sean and Sharalyn's children - Zachary, 4 1/2, and Peyton, almost 2.
